News Apply now for a Creative Communities Grant
Community groups, individual artists, cultural organisations and creatives in Maidstone are being invited to apply for a Creative Communities Grant.
Over the past three years, Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) has awarded over £90,000 in grants, supporting more than 40 individuals and organisations to deliver over 60 projects for the local community.
Thanks to a further round of funding from central Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, MBC is delighted to be able to offer a further £30,000 in 2025/26. Applications for the latest round open on Wednesday 30 April 2025.
The Creative Communities Grants range between £500 and £2,000 and are open to those delivering projects focused specifically in Maidstone Town Centre. The grants are designed to create a sense of pride in the town and allow an individual or group to take the first steps towards getting a project off the ground. The latest round of support funding will be awarded in August 2025.

Creative Communities Grant application criteria:
Who can apply: Individual artists and creatives, community groups and cultural organisations located in the borough of Maidstone that are working on town centre projects.
There are four key priorities for the Creative Communities Grants:
- Increasing pride in our borough and its communities
- Increasing participation and engagement in arts and cultural activities; working with diverse audiences
- Supporting new and existing creative talent in the borough
- Promoting the benefits of arts and culture to our society, economy, health and wellbeing.
The deadline for this round of funding closes 30 June 2025.
- Total fund available: £30,000
- Grant range available to apply for: £500 - £2,000
